Los siguientes consejos te ayudarán a seguir crecimiento profesionalmente, a mejorar tu desempeño laboral y a crear un lugar de trabajo más eficiente:
1. Limita las distracciones
Empecemos por lo más básico pero, y lo sabemos, lo más complicado. Según un estudio de Udemy sobre distracciones en el trabajo, el 84% de los trabajadores estiman que pueden volver a concentrarse por completo aproximadamente media hora después de que se distrajeron inicialmente. ¿A que hora te lo vas a pensar mejor antes de distraer a tu colega o a tu equipo? Pero hay más:
Entre las notificaciones que llegan al teléfono, tu colega mirándote por encima de su ordenador para que le leas la mente, las ganas de seguir leyendo ese hilo sobre un crimen misterioso…sí, es fácil distraerse y posponer continuamente el trabajo, llegando a convertirse en una de las razones de un rendimiento más bajo de lo esperado. Por eso, para lograr excelentes resultados relacionados con el trabajo y mantenerse concentrado durante las horas de trabajo, es necesario comprender de dónde provienen las distracciones y limitar su exposición a ellas.
Consejos prácticos:
· Configura el modo no molestar de tu teléfono.
· Trabaja en un lugar tranquilo, si puedes elegir, o usa auriculares para minimizar las distracciones en la oficina, en el coworking o en casa.
· Prémiate con recompensas. Querrás terminar cada tarea y alejarás de tu mente el terrible deseo de distraerte. ¿Qué recompensas? Eso ya lo decides tú. Un café, volver a ver el Lip Sync Battle de Tom Holland, entrar en instagram…
2. Márcate hitos
Crear pequeñas metas te ayudará a mejorar tu desempeño por dos razones: podrás alcanzar tus objetivos paso a paso sin agobiarte y obtendrás métricas concretas para medir el éxito a corto, medio y largo plazo.
Consejos prácticos:
· Divide tus objetivos en pequeñas tareas, siguiendo la metodología SMART: específicas, medibles, alcanzables, relevantes y en tiempo limitado.
· Sé realista con tus expectativas. Marcarte metas difícilmente alcanzables o en un tiempo muy corto, podrán frustrarte en lugar de hacer que mejores tus resultados.
3. Evita el multitasking
Cuando comienzas a realizar una tarea y otra y otra y otra sin haber acabado la anterior, la calidad del resultado de cada una va a deteriorarse o, desde luego, no será tan brillante como podrías llegar a conseguirlo. El multitasking puede parecer eficiente, pero cambiar de tareas constantemente reduce tu eficiencia. Puedes engañarte creyendo que estás haciendo muchas cosas y que, por lo tanto, estás trabajando mucho y bien, pero es muy probable que estés cometiendo errores que tendrás que solucionar después. En lugar de hacer malabares con tantas tareas, prioriza en qué debes trabajar y cúmplelo.
Nuestro cerebro no puede concentrarse en resolver varias cosas al mismo tiempo excepto si se trata de operaciones fisiológicas como respirar o hacer la digestión. Trabajar en diferentes tareas a la vez reduce nuestras capacidades cognitivas, ¡el cerebro solo puede enfocarse en una tarea a la vez! Al menos si queremos resultados de calidad.

· En lugar de realizar múltiples tareas de diferentes proyectos diferentes a la vez, priorízalas y trabaja en una tarea principal a la vez. Lo harás más rápido y será más efectivo.
· Rechaza tareas que puedan distraerte de tu trabajo real. Explícale a tu responsable o colega en qué estás trabajando de manera prioritaria.
4. Pide feedback
La única forma de crecer profesionalmente es buscar las formas en las que podemos mejorar y aprovechar nuestras fortalezas, y el feedback es el mejor punto de partida. Verificar con frecuencia cómo está siendo nuestro desempeño y hacer preguntas específicas te ayudará a obtener el feedback que necesitas. La mejor manera de obtener un feedback constructivo y objetivo es a través de las evaluaciones del desempeño. Compartimos contigo una breve guía de cómo realizar una evaluación.
Consejos prácticos:
· Durante la reunión de feedback, crea un Plan de Acción para que todo lo que comentéis tenga una base sólida.

5. Comunicación clara
Saber comunicarse de manera eficaz es fundamental, especialmente en un entorno de trabajo digital que suele implicar una comunicación asincrónica. Cuando trabajamos en un proyecto, todas las personas involucradas necesitan saber de qué son responsables y con cuánto tiempo cuentan. La comunicación efectiva conduce a un gran trabajo en equipo, lo que mejora el desempeño individual y colectivo.
Consejos prácticos:
· Cuando tengas problemas con alguna parte del proyecto, no pierdas el tiempo y pide ayuda. ¡La comunicación también es eso!
· Comunica tus inquietudes y tus ideas.
· Si eres responsable de un equipo, no olvides dar feedback y, por supuesto, ¡pídelo tú también!
6. Delega tareas
Lo de que hay un hombre en España que lo hace todo, se lo dejamos a Astrud. Nadie puede hacerlo todo por sí mismo y saber cuándo delegar una tarea te hará muchísimo más eficiente. Entre las hard skills de un manager, debería estar siempre saber cuándo estás haciendo demasiado.
Consejos prácticos:
· Divide el proyecto en pequeñas tareas específicas para saber qué puedes delegar y a quién.
· Asigna cada tarea especializada a un colega que se dedique a tiempo completo al campo específico de esa tarea.
7. Haz ejercicio
Según un estudio sobre el impacto del ejercicio físico en el desempeño laboral, la actividad física mejora el rendimiento laboral. La actividad física diaria de los empleados a lo largo del día genera caravanas de recursos que consisten en recursos físicos (sueño), afectivos (vigor) y cognitivos (concentración en la tarea), que contribuyen aún más al desempeño laboral del día siguiente. Los recursos físicos y afectivos sirven para reducir los dolores corporales cotidianos; los recursos cognitivos contribuyen más al desempeño de las tareas diarias; y los recursos afectivos y cognitivos son predictores más fuertes del desempeño creativo autoevaluado.
